Thursday, 5/12, 5:30pm Reception, 6:00pm Presentation. Free. RSVPs required. RSVP to tthayer@preterm.org

Caring for women
means caring for the environment.

We have come to realize that a healthy environment is just as much a matter of justice as reproductive self-determination. Women and children, especially low-income women and children, are disproportionately affected by environmental decline. As we work for the rights and well-being of women, we must also work for a healthier environment, for all women, for their children, for our collective future. We've resolved to Act Boldly, Live Gently.

Our Vision

From our founding, Preterm has had a broad vision that supports the dignity of women and their right to make free and responsible choices about their own lives and to participate wholly in their communities and society.

Although our primary medical focus is on abortion services, we see ourselves as part of the broader reproductive justice movement, which encompasses the ability to control if and when to bear children, the freedom to become a parent and to parent with dignity, and the right to have healthy and safe families and relationships, including a healthy environment in which to live, work and play.

Our vision informs everything we do, from our holistic approach to patient care to our organizational policies to our more recent efforts to become an environmentally sustainable "green" clinic.

Read through this section to learn more about our commitment to reproductive and environmental justice and our transformation into a green clinic.
